DISCLAIMER: By using these drivers you agree not to hold me responsible for anything that happens to your computer other than the stereo mix device showing up. I can not be held responsible if your computer melts, catches fire, explodes, disintegrates, vanishes, walks away, looks at you funny or calls you names. As long as your model is listed above, these drivers should work just fine.
These are the actual drivers for WINDOWS 7 64 bit for the above models WITH STEREO MIX ENABLED.
Again, I repeat, ONLY FOR WINDOWS 7 64 BIT.
To install these drivers you need to do the following:
2) After you download it, extract it to a folder on your desktop called Audio
3) Left-Click "Start" Right-Click "My Computer" then Left-Click "Manage"
4) Left-Click "Device Manager"
5) Click the plus next to "Sound Video and Game Controllers"
6) Right-click Conexant HD Audio
7) Left-Click "Update Driver Software"
8) Left-Click "Browse my computer for driver software"
9) Left-Click "Let me pick from a list of devices..."
10) Left-Click the "Have Disk" button
11) Left-Click "Browse"
12) Left-Click "Desktop" then Double-Click the "Audio" folder you made in step 2
13) Double-Click "W7-64" then Left-Click "Open" then Left-Click "Ok"
14) Left-Click "Next"
At this point a box may pop up saying "Installing this device driver is not recommended because windows cannot verify that it is compatible with your hardware .." If it does, do not worry, click yes.
Now another box may pop up that says "Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software"
You have to click "Install this driver software anyway"
The reason this box pops up, is because drivers are whats called "Signed" when they come from the hardware manufacturer. My edits to them affected the CRC Check (File hash) stored in the security certificate.. Meaning they do not match what the publisher originally sent out.. Duh, these drivers are fixed to have stereo mix working again. Click Install anyway let it do its thing.
15) Eventually it will say they were installed and ask you to reboot. Please do so.
After you reboot, you may need to enable the stereo mix device.. To do so, right click on the speaker icon in the system tray in the lower right hand corner of the screen, and click "Recording Devices"
In the box that shows up, Right click in the white area and Left-click "Show Disabled Devices" If stereo mix wasnt there before, it should be now. If it says it is disabled, right-click on it and left-click on Enable.
That should be it.. You should now have a working stereo mix device, And using drivers that were meant for your laptop.
